How far does your digital footprint follow you?

Many celebrities do things we may forget about. We think that maybe everyone forgets it, but that’s 100 percent wrong. Your digital footprint will ALWAYS follow you, because there’s proof of it and people will never forget.

One recent example of someone’s past coming back to hit them is actor Will Smith smacking comedian Chris Rock in the face at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th, 2022.

Now, why did Smith smack Rock? Smith smacked Rock at the Academy Awards because Rock said a joke about Smith’s wife, actor Jada Pinkett Smith. The joke being: “Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see you,” as Jada is seen rolling her eyes at the joke. If you aren’t aware, Jada has alopecia. A disease that causes hair loss.

Many people seem to agree and disagree with what Smith did. Many people were also left questioning why did Smith do this?? Especially sense in his past Smith was also seen making fun of a man who also had alopecia. You can see the video where this happened at Will Smith making fun of Arsenio Hall’s band member who had alopecia, and says it’s “just a joke.”

Smith isn’t the only celebrity to have been caught up like this. Let’s talk about actor Jim Carrey next. “In a news week article Carrey voiced his disappointment with Smith by saying “I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video is gonna be there forever. It’s gonna be ubiquitous. You know, that insult is gonna last a very long time.”

But what’s the problem with this? Back in 1997, at the MTV Movie Awards, Carrey was receiving an award from actor Alicia Silverstone when he went up to her and kissed her, and in the video it is shown that Silverstone is trying to push him off. In response to Carrey’s comments many internet users brought up a video of the MTV Movie Awards in 1997 where he is seen forcibly kissing Silverstone. Not only that, but Carrey ALSO tried to kiss Will Smith that same night. You can also see Smith pushing him off before it went any further.

Another example about one’s digital footprint coming back to affect them today.

Have you seen the new Batman movie? Actor Zoe Kravtiz, who played Catwoman in the movie, is receiving a lot of backflash. Why is she receiving this backlash? It all began when Kratiz had a lot to say about the slap Will Smith gave Chris Rock.

Kravtiz posted pictures of her in her dress at the Oscars, which she captioned it “Here’s a picture of my dress at the show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now.”

Why are people so bothered by this? Well, back in 2013, Kravtiz made some comments towards musician Jaden Smith, who at the time was 14 years old. Kravtiz had made comments like “when you’re older, you know we’ll hang out. Nope, that’s inappropriate, you’re 14.” seemingly flirting with Jaden.

Like said earlier, your digital footprint will always follow you. The internet will never forget about what you do or say.
