Creative activity promotes the growth of neurons and boosts the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine,” says Americans for the Arts.

The release of dopamine in the brain brings a feeling of relaxation and happiness. The release of dopamine into the brain also has the added benefits of increasing one’s self esteem and easing depression.

Art From The Street said “Positive accomplishments… can release the neurotransmitter dopamine into your system, which not only stimulates the creation of new neurons that can help keep the brain active, but can also combat depression and increase self-esteem.”

Another benefit that comes with having art as a hobby is the lowering of stress levels and less distractions when dopamine is released into the brain.

“When you are totally immersed in a creative endeavor, you may find yourself in what’s known as ‘the zone’ or a state of ‘flow’” says Be Brain Fit. “This meditative-like state focuses your mind and temporarily pushes aside all your worries.” Being able to distract yourself and be in your own world is beneficial because it can remove stress, negative thoughts, and unpleasant distractions.

Observation skills are very important and having art as a hobby can be very beneficial in developing these skills. Improved observation skills can lead to many different benefits, such as “our observation, motor, and problem-solving skills, as well as memory retention and hand-eye coordination.” says Artsy.

The ability to see the world in a different perspective and having more creativity are more benefits that come with having art as a hobby. Art is a very observant hobby and helps people see a lot more of the detail in their environment, as well as perceive the world in a much more imaginative and creative way.

“Art opens the heart and mind to possibilities and fuels the imagination. Art is a process of learning to create ourselves and experience the world in new ways” says ArtLoft Asia.

Art is a very powerful and simple to use tool that anyone can use to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Art can be very beneficial and should be considered by everyone as a new hobby in order to positively impact their everyday lives.
