President Biden is doing a lot for people of color
There has been so much controversy surrounding President Joe Biden’s actions after he took office. People have either supported him or are wondering if they have made the wrong choice. President Biden promised a lot for people of color and minorities to fix unequal and prejudiced rules in society and many conservatives. Biden supporters and minorities think that he only used people of color to get votes in his favor, but he is actually helping many minorities in the short-term of his presidency.
On Feb 8 the “Washington Post” it wrote, “Biden has delivered. To date, the president has assembled the most diverse Cabinet in U.S. history.”
Former Presidents Donald Trump had cabinets that are virtually completely white secretaries. There is little to no effort in attempting to include people of color and trying to support them in society.
This implies that Biden has started to do more for the minorities, such as including them into his cabinet and making it so more minorities are integrated instead of being pushed away.
Many people believe that since Biden took office, he has not held up his promise to the people and only used the people of color to win. Many have said that they have made the mistake of voting for Biden or to support his campaign because he was only saying what the people wanted to hear.
Those who think they made a mistake in voting for Biden are wrong. Biden has shown that he does care for people of color and wants to make a change.
Joe Biden has started doing more for the people of color and the people in danger in America. He has passed acts that will help people of color with problems that are common in society. National Public Radio recently said that the “House lawmakers on Wednesday passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, a reform bill that would ban chokeholds and alter so-called qualified immunity for law enforcement, which would make it easier to pursue claims of police misconduct.”
News Reporters have said that they no longer think that Biden is suitable for President. He has no long-term plans for the people of color and is just doing what he could to get the votes and win.
Those people are wrong. Biden has done many things to help people of color and he wants to make sure that people of color aren’t being pushed away.
CNBC said, “President Joe Biden has already made it clear he wants to close the racial wealth gap in America.”
On Sept 28, 2020 Federal Reserve wrote, “the typical White family has eight times the wealth of the typical Black family and five times the wealth of the typical Hispanic family.”
The racial wealth gap in America is a serious problem. There hasn’t been a plan in action to close the gap to make all families get the same income regardless of race.
Joe Biden has plans that will help people of color and minorities. Biden has introduced economic plans that will help people that are struggling financially to support themselves.
On March 5 the Washington Post wrote, “President Biden plans to make a public pitch for his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan Friday as the Senate resumes debate of the sprawling legislation that Democrats are prepared to pass without Republican votes.”
Families have been impacted greatly due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. In the families impacted are underprivileged families of different races who have not been able to support themselves.
Joe Biden’s Covid plan allows for families of all races to get the support they need. Minority families have been struggling the most due to how much income they have but with this plan they will get support. The economic relief that has been opposed to by republicans, would allow the families that are struggling to get back onto their feet.
This goes to show that he is making sure that people of color no longer have to be so separated from everyone else. He is making sure that he can help people of color in the long run and not just now by making more jobs and doing what he can.
With the direction that President Joe Biden is going, it is safe to say that he is in fact trying to make a change for people of color and the people of America without using them to get further ahead.
