President Biden Removes U.S. Troops From Afghanistan; Outcomes catastrophic

In April 2021, President Joe Biden announced that the United State Military would be leaving Afghanistan by the end of September.  The Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021 caused tens of thousands of Afghans to flee, often by taking desperate measures.

The Taliban Is a ¨Deobandi¨ Islamic religious and political movement; they are also a military organization in Afghanistan.   The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 until 2001 when the U.S. led the invasion, They have  however return to power 20 years after being dismissed by the U.S. troops.

“ Last night in Kabul, the United States ended 20 years of war in Afghanistan – the longest war in American History” says President Biden. He went on to say that over 120,000 people were evacuated to safety and that No nation has ever done anything like it and that only the United States had the capacity and “will ” to do so.

After the Military Troops were evacuated a lot of people made the assumption that the afghan would hold there on for at least a period of time, it turned out to not be accurate.

The Days following the Taliban takeover, The United State led an airlift state helped many international passport holders and Afghans to flee on hundreds of hastily coordinated evacuation flights from Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport. Nearly 125,000 people were rescued.

¨It is unfortunate that the people of Afghanistan are going through this. It is truly a sad situation,” said technology teacher Mr. Gomez. “The conflict in Afghanistan has been going on for a very long time. Innocent people are often the ones that pay the price of war. When asked what he asked about whether Biden removing the military troops was a good or bad thing Mr. Gomes replied by pointing out that the United States needed an exit strategy, that the United States helped the Afghan military police. The only thing that would help is that the Taliban recognize and do right by their people.

I do believe what happened in Afghanistan was a tragedy and not only does my heart ache as they are my fellow brothers and sisters, It makes you wonder just how much people are willing and willing to sacrifice just for the sake of it.

We have a long way to go, 20 years of war and nothing came out of it but death.
